25 Things That Really Matter: Hugs

HUGS

I don’t think that there will be many out there that will disagree with me when I say ” Hugs are the universal medicine.”  Hugs are used to celebrate a special occasion, greet someone, say goodbye, cheer someone up, comfort someone in need, and express love between two people.

How amazing is that!?!  One action can be used for all of those things, and better yet it is multi-lingual.  I can go to France tomorrow without knowing a word of French, but a hug would be understood.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a hugging family, but I do know people that are not as comfortable with hugging.  It always reminds me of my favorite show, The Big Bang Theory, and the time Sheldon tries to express gratitude by trying to hug Penny.  She had given him a gift he considered extremely valuable and no amount of gift baskets could repay her for her gift, yet a hug was perfect.  I guess that makes them priceless.

Check out the rest of the list so far.

Hi! I absolutely love your post on HUGS – I grew up in a family where touchy feely was IN. I think it is so important to hug kids, people, and let people know how much you love them.

BTW – how did you design this blog – it is unreal!
